{"id":5051,"date":"2025-12-27T13:19:41","date_gmt":"2025-12-27T13:19:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.muzejsarajeva.ba\/?p=5051"},"modified":"2026-01-12T12:18:52","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T12:18:52","slug":"portreti-koji-pricaju-historiju-sarajeva","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.muzejsarajeva.ba\/en\/2025\/12\/27\/portreti-koji-pricaju-historiju-sarajeva\/","title":{"rendered":"Portraits that tell Sarajevo\u2019s history"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At our permanent exhibition in Brusa Bezistan, next to the gallery \u201cSarajevo as Imagination\u201d, featuring works by prominent Bosnian and Herzegovinian painters, visitors can also see portraits of Sarajevo\u2019s mayors from the period of Austro-Hungarian administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On display are portraits of Mustaj-bey Fadilpa\u0161i\u0107 (1878\u20131892), a work by \u0160pira Bocari\u0107 ; Mehmed-bey Kapetanovi\u0107 Ljubu\u0161ak (1877\u20131878 \/ 1893\u20131899), painted by Ivana Kobilca; Nezim ef. \u0160kalji\u0107 (1899\u20131905), also by \u0160pira Bocari\u0107; and Esad-beg Kulovi\u0107 (1905\u20131910), painted by Rudolf Vali\u0107 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also displayed in the gallery are the portraits of two mayors, father and son: Ragib ef. \u010cur\u010di\u0107 (1875\u20131877) \u2014 the last head of Sarajevo during Ottoman rule, and Fehim ef. \u010cur\u010di\u0107 (1910\u20131915) \u2014 the last mayor during Austro-Hungarian administration.
