Last night, the 21st public lecture from the cycle \"Our Heritage\", entitled \"Natural disasters and fires in late Ottoman Sarajevo and its surroundings\" was successfully held in the Sarajevo 1878-1918 Museum.<\/p>\n

Through an extremely studious, informative and inspiring presentation, lecturer Amer Maslo presented the results of thorough research based on carefully studied historical sources and rich archival materials. The lecture offered a comprehensive insight into the period between 1850 and 1878, bringing visitors closer to the complex circumstances of late Ottoman Sarajevo and the challenges the population faced on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

The audience had the opportunity to learn more about the causes and consequences of natural disasters and fires, the ways of recording them in historical sources, the reactions of local authorities, as well as the experiences and living circumstances of the population in a time of great social and political changes.<\/p>\n

We would like to thank the lecturer for his exceptional contribution to the understanding of our past, as well as everyone who contributed to the successful realization of another lecture dedicated to the research and preservation of cultural and historical heritage.<\/p>\n
