Today, the museum journal \u201cContributions to the Study of the History of Sarajevo,\u201d issue no. 11, was promoted at the Brusa Bezistan. The presenters\u2014Director of the Museum of Sarajevo Indira Ku\u010duk Sorgu\u010d, Editor-in-Chief Dr. Edin Veletovac, Executive Editor D\u017eenana Kurtovi\u0107, Prof. Dr. Amra \u0160a\u010di\u0107 Be\u0107a, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edin Urijan Kukavica\u2014introduced the audience, through an exceptionally rich and inspiring presentation, to the significance of this edition, as well as its role in the continuous research of Sarajevo\u2019s rich history.<\/p>\n
The presenters placed special emphasis on the published papers, highlighting their scholarly contribution and the diversity of topics covering various historical periods and academic disciplines\u2014from ancient history and archaeology to art history and geography. It was noted that these works not only deepen existing knowledge but also open new research questions, thereby making a significant contribution to the study of the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening domestic scholarly production.<\/p>\n
In her address, Prof. Dr. Amra \u0160a\u010di\u0107 Be\u0107a also announced future projects of the Museum of Sarajevo, aimed at strengthening research activities and developing new academic content, which will further enhance the Museum\u2019s role as an important meeting place for scholarship, research, and the preservation of cultural and historical heritage. The professor also announced an upcoming scientific conference organized in partnership between the Museum of Sarajevo, the Department of History, and the Center for Historical Research of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo, to be held on April 27, 2026, titled \u201cThe Area of Present-Day Sarajevo in Antiquity.\u201d<\/p>\n
The authors of the original scientific, professional, and review papers are: Mirha \u0160abanovi\u0107, Adnan Kaljanac, Amra \u0160a\u010di\u0107 Be\u0107a, Salmedin Mesihovi\u0107, Amre Banda, Muniba Osmanovi\u0107, Belma Durmi\u0161evi\u0107, Emina Ajanovi\u0107, Zijad \u0160ehi\u0107, and Jesenko Had\u017eihasanovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
We are particularly pleased that there is a clear vision for \u201cContributions to the Study of the History of Sarajevo\u201d to become a regular annual publication in the coming period, and we sincerely hope that the long-term goal will also be achieved\u2014indexing the journal in the most prominent international databases, thereby further ensuring its visibility and importance within academic circles.<\/p>\n
We would like to thank all authors, reviewers, editors, as well as everyone who attended today\u2019s promotion and supported this important project.<\/p>\n
