The Austro-Hungarian period brought industrialisation, technological progress, and organised production, as well as the opening of the State School for Carpet Weaving, where generations of weavers were trained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, the tradition of carpet weaving in Bosnia is much older. Even before the arrival of the Ottomans, simple woollen rugs were being made, while oriental carpets later introduced richer ornaments and more advanced weaving techniques. The carpet soon became an indispensable part of the Bosnian home \u2014 decorating floors, walls, sofas, and beds, and often serving as a valuable gift for weddings or housewarmings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bosnian carpets were given a special beauty through motifs and ornaments, to which weavers often added their own improvisations, creating new patterns and a distinctive local expression of carpet weaving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sarajevska Tkaonica imala je veliki utjecaj na razvoj ku\u0107nog \u0107ilimarstva \u0161irom zemlje, a bosanski \u0107ilim vremenom je postao mnogo vi\u0161e od predmeta svakodnevne upotrebe \u2014 simbol doma, naslije\u0111a i kulturnog identiteta koji se prenosio generacijama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Precisely because of its historical, artistic, and cultural value, and at the initiative of the Museum of Sarajevo, the \u201cBosnian Carpet\u201d was included on the Preliminary Open List of Intangible Cultural and Historical Heritage of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the Preliminary Open List of Intangible Cultural and Historical Heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"16\" width=\"16\" alt=\"\u2728\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/tf4\/1\/16\/2728.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the photo archive of the Museum of Sarajevo: Carpet weaving in Sarajevo.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Osnivanjem Tkaonice \u0107ilima u Sarajevu, koju su osnovali Filip Hass i sinovi iz Be\u010da, po\u010dinje novo poglavlje u razvoju bosanskohercegova\u010dkog \u0107ilima.
