Tomorrow, 2 July 2026, starting at 12:00 noon, Brusa Bezistan will host the presentation of the Oriental Collection and the monograph of the Archives of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, as well as a presentation of the scholarly legacy of Hivzija Hasandedi\u0107, a distinguished orientalist, ethnologist, archivist, translator, historiographer, and cultural worker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through his dedication, meticulous research, and numerous published scholarly works, Hivzija Hasandedi\u0107 left an enduring mark on the history of Mostar and Herzegovina. His commitment to research and professional curiosity defined a lifetime devoted to collecting, studying, documenting, promoting, and preserving the material heritage of Islamic culture. By all measurable academic standards, Hivzija Hasandedi\u0107 is regarded as the foremost orientalist and researcher of the cultural and historical heritage of Herzegovina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Oriental Collection of the Archives of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton consists of manuscripts, official documents, records, and printed books. According to the Catalogue of Turkish, Arabic and Persian Manuscripts, compiled by Hivzija Hasandedi\u0107, the collection\u2014then housed in the Mostar City Archives\u2014contains 756 manuscripts covering a broad range of academic disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presentation is organized by the Archives of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Public Institution Museum of Sarajevo. Speakers at the event will include Amir Kadribegovi\u0107, Aladin Husi\u0107, Jasmin Brankovi\u0107, and Indira Ku\u010duk-Sorgu\u010d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
