Safvet-beg Bašagić states that the poet Tevekkuli-dede, sheikh of the MevleviTekke in Sarajevo, was buried in the harem of the Emperor’s Mosque. Two Muslim tombstones (nišan) without inscriptions point to this fact because of their shape, but also to another phenomenon from the Ottoman era, and that is the custom of placing alms stones or alms stone pillars.
