Dr. Edin Veletovac, curator at the Museum of Sarajevo, participated in the scientific conference “The Valley of Upper Bosnia from Prehistory to the Late Middle Ages – New Insights, Challenges, and Research Perspectives,” held in Visoko on October 30, 2025, marking the 120th anniversary of the birth of Anton Smodič.
In his presentation titled "Kakanj Area During Roman Administration,” Dr. Veletovac discussed the development of settlements in the Kakanj region from prehistory to the Roman period, emphasizing its strategic, transportation, and economic importance within the broader area of Upper Bosnia. He particularly highlighted the role of the Roman communication route that passed through the Bosna River valley, as well as the connection of this area with urban centers such as Zenica and Sarajevo.
