This collection is among the youngest in the Sarajevo Museum, as it was established in 2020. It originated from the 20th Century Collection, and the exhibits it comprises differ in their function, form, type, material, time of creation, and historical value. The importance of this collection is significant, as it contributes to researching and verifying information about the history of Sarajevo during the 1992–1995 period.

The Siege Collection 1992–1995 aims to collect, preserve, study, and exhibit all types of artifacts such as various kinds of tools and weapons, ammunition, uniforms of different military formations, machinery, production materials, products, military and civilian documentation, press, military maps, personal notes of members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina related to the period of aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the siege of Sarajevo, as well as other material and technical equipment.

As such, the collection serves as a foundation for all types of museum activities, including research and educational programs, museum workshops, and the presentation of museum materials through permanent and thematic exhibitions, all in accordance with legally prescribed conditions for handling artifacts. It is important to emphasize that the Siege Collection 1992–1995 includes a rich inventory of museum materials housed both in the museum’s storage and in the permanent exhibition at the Home of the Liberators of Žuč located in the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo.
