Theatre Scene Improvisation Workshop at Despić House
Today, in the beautiful setting of Despić House, one of the most significant monuments of Sarajevo’s cultural and historical heritage, an educational workshop titled “Improvisation of a Theatre Scene” was held. The dedicated museum team — Dženana Kurtović, Selma Oruč, Velena Gašić, and Senad Kuč — creatively introduced students to the world of theatre and the rich tradition of stage expression in our city.
It was precisely within the walls of Despić House that the first theatre performances in Sarajevo were held, thanks to the enthusiasm of early art lovers. Today, our task is to preserve that spirit of amateur theatre and pass it on to younger generations, reminding them how important it is to cherish and maintain our cultural and historical heritage.
Students of the third grade from Vladislav Skarić Primary School participated with great interest and joy in all activities. Through improvisation, play, and teamwork, they demonstrated the willingness of young people to learn about cultural heritage and its importance. Their creativity and enthusiasm are proof that heritage truly lives — when recognized and carried forward by the young.
