An educational workshop titled “Green Day at the Sarajevo Museum” was held at the Jewish Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attended by students from the geography and history clubs of Alija Nametak Elementary School.
The workshop was led by museum staff members Senada Ahmić, Selma Oruč, and Dženana Kurtović, who first introduced the students to the museum’s creative workshops and then guided them through the permanent exhibition of the Jewish Museum of BiH, acquainting them with the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Jewish community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the tour, the students participated in a green workshop on plant planting.
During the workshop, Professor Bojana Pintarić Avdagić introduced the students to different types of plants and demonstrated how they differ and how they are planted. The plants that were planted on this occasion were grown as part of the practical training of students from the Secondary School for Environment and Wood Design, and as a beautiful gesture of cooperation and shared care for the environment, they were donated to the Sarajevo Museum.
Through this workshop, we wanted to draw attention to the importance of greening every corner of our surroundings and to remind everyone how essential it is for children from an early age to understand the value of the cultural and historical heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the importance of preserving, nurturing, and beautifying it.
