  •  Strengthening Cultural Ties: Meeting Between the Museum of Sarajevo and "Consilium Bosniacum"

The Director of the Museum of Sarajevo, Indira Kučuk-Sorguč, expressed her joy and pride in recognizing the long-term activities of the Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina Associations “Consilium Bosniacum”. She congratulated its President, Damir A. Saračević, on his persistent and dedicated efforts to protect and promote the history, truth, and values of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Museum of Sarajevo has participated twice in exhibitions organized within the framework of this Association’s events.

One of the upcoming manifestations is “Sevdah on the Danube”, to be held on May 30, 2026, at the Brucknerhaus — the largest gallery, stage, and concert venue in Linz. Within this event, a significant exhibition space will be dedicated to the Museum of Sarajevo, showcasing the culture, history, and traditions of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The organization of this major cultural event will be supported by the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, the Office for Diaspora, the Federal Ministry for Refugees and Displaced Persons, and other institutions. The manifestation aims to present to Austria’s cultural and political establishment the most significant artistic and cultural values of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, Director Kučuk-Sorguč presented Mr. Saračević with the Museum of Sarajevo’s monograph, “75 Years in the Service of Culture” — the most comprehensive guide to the Museum’s collections and activities, and a vivid testament to the richness of our history and heritage.

As emphasized by Director Kučuk-Sorguč, the Museum of Sarajevo strives to serve as a bridge for our diaspora, helping them reconnect with their roots and acting as a representative of Bosnian cultural values abroad.
