In the premises of the Museum of Sarajevo – Brusa Bezistan, the traditional annual event dedicated to the International Day of Monuments and the Day of Old Bosnian Dubrovnik was held last night. This was the eleventh edition of the event, organized by the Old Bosnian City of Dubrovnik Foundation in cooperation with the Municipality of Ilijaš.
This year’s theme, “Presenting the Benefits of the Location of the Old Bosnian City of Dubrovnik for the Development of Sustainable Tourism,” highlighted the historical and cultural potential of this medieval site as a model for sustainable heritage-based tourism development. The program featured presentations, exhibitions, video screenings, and the promotion of the Virtual Reality Center as well as a unique souvenir – a stećak (medieval tombstone).
Among the speakers were Perica Mijatović, President of the Old Bosnian City of Dubrovnik Foundation, Nusret Drešković, Dean of the Faculty of Science, University of Sarajevo, Edina Kamenica, Azra Bečević Šarenkapa, Prof. Dr. Adis Fejzić, Prof. Dr. Zlatan Filipović, and other distinguished guests and collaborators.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors at Brusa Bezistan until November 8, 2025.
