Dear friends and admirers of the life and work of Alija Hafizović – Haf, an authentic figure of our Sarajevo, lovers of caricature, visual arts and music, we warmly invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Sarajevo, My Love” on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Novi Grad Municipality Gallery. In cooperation with the Municipality of Novi Grad, the Sarajevo Museum is organizing this unique exhibition of caricature portraits by the artist Alija Hafizović Haf.
The exhibition will present forty (40) caricatures–portraits drawn by Haf. This collection of coloured caricature portraits, titled “Sarajlije”, was created using the technique of coloured wash ink. The caricatures were made as part of the quiz show “Seven Traps”, broadcast in 1975. Haf drew the guests live during the show, and the following year (1976), the portrait-caricatures were presented at the Youth Theatre.
From Haf’s humorous perspective, we will see how his brush captured Željko Bebek, Safet Isović, Kemal Monteno, Mersad Berber, Ines Fančović, Duško Trifunović, Safet Pašalić, Hajrudin “Šiba” Krvavac, Jovica Petković, Mirza Delibašić, Ljiljana Molnar-Talajić, Enver Mehmedbašić, Zdravko Čolić, Juraj Neidhardt, and many other well-known figures.
