Prof. Dr. Selma Rizvić is a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Sarajevo, with more than 20 years of experience. Under her leadership, the Sarajevo Graphics Group research laboratory was established, specializing in the use of 3D technologies for the presentation of cultural heritage. The SGG research group is multidisciplinary, bringing together computer graphics experts and collaborating with archaeologists, historians, visual artists, writers, and film professionals.
She created the first VR theatre play, “Stećakland,” which was staged at Kamerni Teatar 55. She has also developed virtual versions of numerous exhibitions, including the Museum of Sarajevo’s
“Civil Culture of Sarajevo” and “Our Heritage,” which were the first museum exhibitions in Sarajevo to be presented in virtual form.
Together with her students from the computer graphics laboratory, Professor Selma Rizvić created a virtual model of the Sarajevo čaršija as it looked before 1878, which is on display at Brusa Bezistan. Another Sarajevo landmark is currently being digitally reconstructed – Tašlihan, of which only one preserved wall remains in the garden of Hotel Europe.
