The Legacy Collection of the Museum of Sarajevo was established in 2019. This collection preserves the family heritage of well-known Sarajevo families from the urban middle class, whose members belonged to various professions and social roles—from cooks, footballers, professors, athletes, humanitarians, and doctors, to embroiderers, politicians, actresses, ballerinas, painters, and others. Today, the collection comprises more than 300 objects that bear witness to the social, cultural, and everyday life of Sarajevo.

The Legacy Collection also includes a letter sent in 1942 from the Jasenovac concentration camp by Đuro Glanz. The letter passed official censorship, and in its lower part a note written in red states that writing was permitted as a reward for good work and behavior, which further illustrates the strictly controlled conditions under which prisoners were allowed to communicate with their families.

The Legacy Collection is curated by museum advisor Mr. Indira Kučuk-Sorguč.
