The publication Museum Theatre: Audience Communication and Heritage Interpretation by Dragan Kiurski was presented at the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, bringing together museum professionals and representatives of cultural institutions from across the region.
On behalf of the host institution, Director of the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Strajo Krsmanović, welcomed the attendees, while Aida Šarac Berbić, museum educator at the Gallery, addressed the audience on behalf of the organisers, introducing the programme and objectives of the event.
During the event, Aida Vežić, President of the Balkan Museum Network, presented the European RE-MIND project, a platform that brings together museum professionals to exchange knowledge, develop new tools and methodologies, and enhance audience engagement and communication in museums.
Particular emphasis was placed on contemporary approaches to heritage interpretation, digital well-being, and intergenerational audience engagement, as well as on the concepts of museum theatre and theatre in the museum, their core principles, and examples of successful implementation in museum practice.
Events such as this provide a valuable opportunity for exchanging experiences and adopting innovative approaches that contribute to the development of museum practice and strengthen the relationship between museums and their audiences.
Representing the Museum of Sarajevo, Selma Oruč, exhibition interpreter, attended the event with the aim of exchanging professional experiences and enhancing practices in the interpretation of cultural heritage through audience engagement.
