Throughout the year, the Museum of Sarajevo has been a space of encounters, dialogue, and the exchange of knowledge — a place where exhibition projects, culturaland artistic programs, and numerous activities dedicated to our cultural and historical heritage have taken place.
A special place within this program is held by the public lecture series “Our Heritage”, which once again this year brought together numerous lecturers, collaborators, and a loyal audience, to whom we extend our sincere gratitude.
As the year draws to a close, we symbolically conclude it by returning to the earliest layers of Sarajevo’s past. As part of the final lecture, organized by the Public Institution Museum of Sarajevo, the Center for Historical Research of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, and the BATHINVS Association, Prof. Dr. Amra Šačić Beća will speak on the topic “The Population of Ancient Sarajevo,” addressing issues related to the Illyrians, the Illyrian tribe of the Daesitiates, and their relationships and connections with the Romans and the Roman Empire.
The lecture will take place on 18 December 2025 at 8 PM, at the Museum of Sarajevo 1878–1918 (Zelenih beretki 1).
We invite you to join us as we bid farewell to the year in the spirit of knowledge, conversation, and togetherness, and through ancient history once again illuminate the deep and layered roots of Sarajevo.
