On Tuesday, May 5, marking the Day of Remembrance of the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo, the Memorial Center Sarajevo, the Sidran Foundation, and the Museum of Sarajevo invite today’s fortunate children of Sarajevo, their parents, all those who preserve the memory of the siege of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and all who deeply feel the poetry of Abdulah Sidran, to listen to verses of warning — the anguish of a civilized human being in the face of the senseless suffering inflicted by an evil and bloodthirsty force in human form — and to ensure that we never, in life, in literature, or in moments of remembrance, overlook or forget “Mora” by the poet Sidran.
Renowned actors Emina Minka Muftić and Tarik Džinić will recite verses by Abdulah Sidran written during the siege of Sarajevo, accompanied by the young and talented guitarist Erol Begić. Sidran’s “Mora” will be performed by young writer and reciter Ahmed Nur Mehmetović. The program will be moderated by one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most prominent journalists and editors, Dževdet Tuzlić.
We invite the media and the public to join us in these moments of remembrance and to pay tribute to those who lost their lives and to their grieving families.
Join us on Tuesday, May 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Center Sarajevo, Multimedia Hall at Kovači, for the commemorative evening “Children of Planet Sarajevo,” dedicated to the murdered children of besieged Sarajevo.
