The Museum of Sarajevo is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Tell Sarajevo: through photos, sounds, comics", which will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 12:00 pm in the Brusa Bezistan, the annex of the Museum of Sarajevo.
The exhibition was created as a result of a joint project of the Sarajevo Museum, the Sarajevo High School of Applied Arts and the Ilidža High School of Graphic Technologies, Design and Multimedia, with the aim of providing young people with a creative and contemporary approach to researching and interpreting the cultural and historical heritage of Sarajevo.
Starting from museum collections, objects, stories and symbols, students offered their own views of the city and its layers of the past, present and future through various artistic and multimedia forms. Through comics, artistic interpretations of museum materials, the "Museum in 10 Pictures" photo challenge, a short documentary film and a podcast, new narratives were created that bring cultural heritage closer to a modern audience.
A special segment of the project is multimedia content inspired by the annexes of the Museum of Sarajevo. In cooperation with museum advisor Adnan Muftarević, a short documentary film about Brusa Bezistan was realized, while a podcast about Despić's house was recorded with museum pedagogue Senad Kuč, through which interesting facts and stories related to this unique area of family and city tradition were presented.
The project confirms the important role of the museum as a place of learning, creativity and dialogue and shows how cultural heritage can be an inspiration for new artistic and digital content. At the same time, it represents a significant result of the work of the Pedagogical Service of the Sarajevo Museum, which continuously develops cooperation with educational institutions and brings museum contents closer to young people through interactive and creative programs.
The authors, coordinators and moderators of the project are Selma Oruč and Dženana Kurtović.
The exhibition will present the students' works, their creative processes and unique perspectives on Sarajevo's cultural heritage, confirming that heritage is not just a record of the past, but a living story that is constantly enriched by new interpretations and the generations that inherit it.
Welcome!
