Last night at the Museum of Sarajevo, we had the privilege of experiencing both a film screening and a concert. Each event brought together so many warm-hearted, sensitive, and culturally engaged people whose presence reaffirmed the value of our museum’s mission: to preserve, revitalise, and present the rich and distinctive heritage of Sarajevo and of Bosnia and Herzegovina in all its diversity.
The screening of the AI film Mother Queen Katarina Kosača-Kotromanić—the pioneering project of writer Nataša Bartula-Hebert—and the Wednesday concert by Damir Imamović and his guests, featuring last night the exceptionally talented musician and distinguished interpreter of sevdalinka, Zanin Berbić, inspired waves of enthusiastic applause, genuine emotion, and the much-needed optimism and joy among the audience.
As devoted guardians and admirers of our cultural heritage, we are delighted that for the past two years we have witnessed and actively participated in these positive transformations, enriching Sarajevo’s cultural life with programmes distinguished by authenticity, excellence, and lasting value.
Over the past two months, the Summer at the Museum of Sarajevo programme has provided artists, scholars, educators, and media professionals with a welcoming platform to present their creative, aesthetic, and intellectual projects.
Until September, visitors can look forward to concerts, exhibitions, creative workshops, and a wide range of multimedia programmes. Among them, we are especially proud to highlight the retrospective exhibition From Home to Heritage – Three Centuries of the Svrzo’s House, which will open in the outdoor setting of Svrzo’s House on 29 August 2026.
